Genesis 6

Genesis

Chapter 6

1- And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

Men here is ha-adham, including the article ha, which separates it from adham, or the sixth day creation.

2- That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair ; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

The sons of God are angels.  These are the fallen angels who left their habitat to seduce women on earth.  See Jude 1:6.

Men is again ha-adham, including the article “ha,” or the man, i.e. the bloodline that Christ would come from.  This is an attempt to corrupt the line of Christ.

3- And the LORD said, “My spirit shall not always strive with man for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”

Spirit is “ruach” #7307 in the Strong’s Concordance, it is wind or breath, by resemblance of breath.  This is the same word as in Gen 1:2, where it is translated the Spirit of God.  This is the Holy Spirit, one of the offices of the Holy Trinity.  See appendix 9 of the Companion Bible for Bullinger’s note on the ruach.

Man = ha-adham.

Also note that man’s days are now shortened to 120 years.

4- There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The primitive root for giants is “naphal,” #5307 in the Strongs Concordance.  It means to fall.

“Those days” is the time of Noah.  “Also after that,” is referring to a second influx of the fallen angels mating with humans after the flood.

Bullinger notes in appendix 23 & 25 of the the Companion Bible that “men of renown” are heroes of name, and none other than the Greek gods.  It is fascinating to consider the tales of Greek gods and titans may have actually been based in reality, and had roots from these fallen angels of the bible.  The descriptions fit quite well.

5- And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually

God here is “Yehovah,” #3068 in the Strong’s.  This name of the Lord is also used when the word LORD is written in all capital letters.

6- And it repented the LORD that He had made man on earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.

7- And the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them.”

8- But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9- THESE are THE GENERATIONS OF NOAH: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Generations is #8435 in the Strong’s Concordance and its primitive root is “yalad,” #3205, which means to show pedigree among others.

Perfect is “tamiym,” #8549 in the Strongs.  It mean without blemish and without spot among other meanings.

This is to say that Noah’s lineage was without blemish and had not mixed with the fallen angels.  His line was still pure and not corrupted, thus it was still good to bring forth Christ.

10- And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Again, the order is reversed form youngest to oldest.

11- The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

12- And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh corrupted his way upon the earth.

13- And God said unto Noah, “The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

14- Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

Ark is #8392 “tebah,” #8392; a box.  Bullinger notes it as a floating building.

Pitch it is to cover it.  The primitive root is “kaphar,” #3722; to cover, atonement, to cleanse, forgive or reconcile among others.  This is the only word for atonement in the Old Testament.  As we are to be in atonement with our Lord Jesus Christ today.  His covering protects us from the dangerous waters and He forgives our sins.  In 1 Cor 11:10 Paul warns the woman to cover her head.  Christ is that covering to protect her from the fallen angels which will return in the end times.  She is to be covered in atonement with Christ to protect her.  As Jesus would say of the end times in Mathew chapter 24, it will be as in the times of Noah, with the fallen angels giving and taking in marriage.  This covering or atonement protects us.  In many places the Old Testament flows perfectly with the New Testament, marking the Lord’s supernatural hand guiding the scriptures.

15- And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

A cubit is about 18 inches, so this is a very large structure about 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet tall.

16- A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

3 stories high above the waterline.

17- And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Flood is “mabbuwl,”#3999 in the Strong’s Concordance, a deluge, from the primitive root “yabal,” #3986; to flow or to bring.

This is the inspired account and corrects imaginary accretions which had gathered around it; like the traditional accounts of primitive truths such as the Babylonian tablets and the Tale of Gilgamesh, according to Bullinger in the Companion Bible.

Some believe the flood to have been worldwide and others say that it was only regional.

18- But with thee shall I establish My covenant; and thou shall come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

Eight  souls from eth ha-adham.

19- And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

Flesh is “basar,” #1320 in the Strong’s Concordance.  It means person or mankind.  So, two of every flesh means not only animals, they are addressed in chapter 7; but people of other races, i.e. the sixth day creation and even kenites as well.  Eight Adamic souls on board with others.

20- Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

21- And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.”

22- Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
